Crown Fragment showcases the group interplay that makes Banned Books a must-see live act. The riff in the chorus (or whatever you want to call the sections in their gnarled compositions) is amped-up Mussorgsky, loping and dreadful but still earworm worthy (it's been stuck in my head for days).
Melding the harsher/experimental side of rock music with melodies you can hum is a task not many bands attempt, let alone achieve (Deerhoof comes to mind). BB take the risk and we both earn the reward.
Favorite track: Crown Fragment.
